Meet Dakota

Dakota Coates was born Greenfield, Indiana, and grew up in the small town of Shirley. As a life long Hoosier, Dakota spent the majority of his childhood as a resident of Knightstown, and briefly lived in Wilkinson before moving to his current home - back in the city of Greenfield.

Throughout his life, Dakota has been dedicated to giving back to his community and helping to fight for the needs of those around him. Having been a member of various advocacy groups at IU, Dakota proudly supports the tenants of personal liberty, limited and effective government, positive stewardship of funds, and community empowerment. In particular, Dakota has a passion for tackling food insecurity and bolstering financial literacy and self-efficiency in the community.
