Indiana Bloomington - Graduate and Professional Student Government (GPSG)
In IU's GPSG I served as a student representative for the Maurer School of Law (2018-19), the Vice President (2019-20), and the President (2020-21). A brief summary of our priorities included:
Passed a record-breaking 19 resolutions through the General Assembly
Co-Founded a food insecurity initiative called the Emergency Meal Project which has helped serve over 5,000 students
Assisted in the revision process of IU's Title IX, Sexual Misconduct, and Discrimination Policy
Advised various members of the IU Board of Trustees on issues pertaining to student affairs and wellbeing
Managed a budget of over $100,000
Passed a BFC Resolution in support of the rights and protections of student employees during COVID-19
Partnered with the University Graduate School and Provost's Office to increase student stipend levels and promote transparency and fairness around university fee structures
Co-Chaired the Committee for Fee Review, which oversaw the review, approval, and distribution of Indiana University Bloomington's student activity fee
Committee Assignments: Student Transportation Board, GPSG Health and Wellness Committee, Student Legal Services Committee, University Faculty Council, Bloomington Faculty Council, Graduate Faculty Council, Student Ethics Appeals Committee, Graduate Mental Health Taskforce, IU Presidential Search Advisory Committee, IU COVID-19 Research Restart Committee, UFC Policy Review Committee, the Cabinet of Student Leaders, IU Substance Use Coalition, BFC Student Affairs Committee, GFC Academic Policy Committee, and various other single-issue taskforces and committees.
Maurer School of Law - Student Bar Association (SBA)
In SBA, I served as one of three class Representatives who are tasked with being the voice for our class. During the 2019-20 term, I served as the Vice President for the organization. While in this role, I:
Worked with the Deans Advisory Council to address student mental health challengesÂ
Fought for transparency and swift action on matters related to professorial harassment and assault on students
Oversaw disbursement of student funds to student organizations
Committee Assignments: Dean's Advisory Council; Indiana State Bar Association - Law School Conclave Committee.
Indiana Bloomington - Residence Hall Association (RHA)
While in this organization, I served in various levels of leadership which included serving as the President (2017-2018) and the Vice-President of Internal Affairs (2016-2017). In these positions, my responsibilities and priorities included:
Completed a year-long adjustment process of the IU Housing Student Activity Fee to account for inflation, property needs, and rising student health concerns while simultaneously working to optimize existing budgetary operations to maximize value to students
Performed oversight and review of a budget over $150,000
Established safeguards to protect the rights and interests of students
Partnered with other student governments (IUSA, GPSG) to push campus-wide initiatives (including: administrative transparency and accountability, mental health, and financial support)
Developed a strategic plan for the organization
Committee Assignments: IU Cabinet of Student Leaders, Student Health, Communications, Funding Board, Meal Plan Committee, Internal Affairs, Director's Council, Executive Board, Campus Housing Advisory Council, and Residential Life Advisory Council.
During my time in these positions we aimed to address and establish projects around the following topics:
Political Discourse and Cultural Awareness
Sexual assault and domestic violence prevention on campus
Increase the availability and affordability of mental health services
Increase availability of dining options for students with dietary or religious restrictionsÂ
